Electronic / Electrical Technician - Job Reference: 715

Reporting to the Electrical Assembly Supervisor you will be responsible for the assembly of electronic/electrical products and operation of the associated test rigs and verification programmes for these products. Key Duties Include: • Assembly of electronic and electrical assemblies and test fixtures. • Test and verification of finished products • Manufacture of bespoke cables and looms using hand tools. • Hand assembly of through-hole and SMD components onto PCA’s. • Fault diagnosis and rework of Sub-Assemblies • First article builds • You will also be required to assist in routine maintenance of both development and production test rigs and fixtures and some vehicle integration work. We have a requirement for a Stores Person to join our production team at MAGTEC, the UK’s largest designer and manufacturer of electric drive systems. Based in the heart of Sheffield’s manufacturing hub close to the junction 34 of the M1, we’re ideally placed to deliver a highly professional service to customers worldwide. The work will include receiving goods and booking in on system, unpacking and first inspection of goods, liaising with other departments, organising return of goods to suppliers, cycle counting, cleaning of the stores areas, stock replenishment, picking of stock and kitting for manufacture, generation of minimum stock level reports and local deliveries and collections of goods. The successful candidate will have the following attributes: • Warehouse experience in a manufacturing environment (essential) • Fork Lift truck license (essential) • Clean driving license (essential) • Experience of using SAGE or similar software for receiving and issuing goods • Computer literate with experience of Windows, Word, Excel • Ability to work safely and ensure the safety of others • Ability to work unsupervised • Ability to handle delicate and sensitive components in addition to heavier parts • Must have good communication skills and the ability to work well with others • Ability to prioritise, organise and liaise across all departments • Must be hard working, and be able to work under pressure with the ability to manage specific details to tight deadlines. Key duties will include: • The development of the stores function including developing, mentoring and leading the employees in line with business needs. • The maintenance of accurate stock keeping records • Overseeing goods received and once checked, entering on to the companies MRP system ensuring that items are correctly located both physically and on the MRP system. • The storage and control of items under COSHH Health and Safety legislation • Maintaining the quality, batch control and traceability of all parts ensuring the department operates in line with the companies QA systems. • Taking a leading role in scheduled stock takes. • Control of goods out/in from subcontractors, liaising with subcontractors as necessary and do so in a timely manner. • Perform and ensure accurate works order picking, stock issue and closure, and highlight and proactively manage shortages by producing shortage reports in advance of picking requirements. • Ensure customer orders are adequately picked & packaged for safe, on time delivery. • Liaison with the various carriers used for delivery to customers and arrange transport. Manufacturing Engineer / Machine Shop Supervisor - Job Reference: 713

Magtec design and manufacture drive systems for commercial electric vehicles including high performance motors, transmissions and power controllers. The company produces high precision machined and fabricated components for these products at its facility in Sheffield which includes: • CNC mills, • CNC Lathes, • Cylindrical grinding machines, • Water jet cutting machine • Press brake • CMM inspection Due to a steady increase in demand for existing products and an increase in new product development, Magtec are looking for an experienced Manufacturing Engineer / Machine Shop Supervisor. In this role you will be responsible for taking newly designed components from the Engineering department and developing the required manufacturing processes, jigs, fixtures, tooling and CNC/CMM programs and implementing these in the workshop to provide components of the correct quality to an agreed timeframe. Key responsibilities: • To manage new component designs from engineering drawing through to finished machined parts. • To ensure components produced are delivered to the correct quality and in a timely manner. • To co-ordinate and plan the production schedule with other with other departments • To lead and develop a team of five production operators to be multi-skilled across the range of machines and produce components to high engineering tolerances. • To advise the design department to ensure that components designed are manufacturable. • To provide feedback to the design department to help ensure that drawings are complete and correct. • To be responsible for the development of the tooling packs, jigs, fixtures, CNC machining programs and CMM processes required • To advise on the purchase of new capital equipment and facilities • To manage the operation of the machining department on a day to day basis • To ensure the existing quality standard and Health and Safety processes are adhered to. • To develop 5S and LEAN in the machining department to improve productivity and quality of output.
